I made this video about “how to teach your dog to sit” in 2013. It was part of a series of videos for the Pasadena Humane Society.
Something you might not know: The Pasadena Humane Society completed an expansion shortly after we completed this video. They now have a larger training facility where they host dog training classes and an underground parking garage. They also have a larger pet supply store and the proceeds all help fund the shelter!
This was a volunteer project that I recently finished for the Pasadena Humane Society. They wanted to give a tour of their new Animal Care Center facility as part of their digital annual report.
All the audio was recorded by my friend, JP Robelot, using a combination of a lav mic and boom mic just out of frame into a Sound Devices portable recorder. When it came time to edit everything, PHS wanted to keep it short (around 3 minutes was ideal). So we cut a lot of the longer takes. When it came time to add the lower third titles, I tried to mimic the font and color scheme from their website as well as the placards that are on display throughout the new building and their dog and cat wards.
